Tony Goldwyn will return to Broadway this winter in Matthew Lopez's two-part drama The Inheritance. He will assume the role of Henry Wilcox from Tony winner John Benjamin Hickey for a four-month limited engagement beginning on January 5, 2020. Hickey will exit the production on January 4 to begin directing the upcoming revival of Plaza Suite; a return date to The Inheritance will be announced at a later time.
Most known for his turn as Fitzgerald Grant on TV's Scandal, Goldwyn was recently seen on Broadway as Max Schumacher in Network. His stage credits also include main-stem turns in Promises, Promises and Holiday.
A modern adaptation of E.M. Forster's novel Howards End, The Inheritance gives a panoramic view of gay life in New York City today, a generation after the height of the AIDS crisis. The production is directed by Tony and Olivier winner Stephen Daldry.
